“You won’t believe”
I know headlines and subtitles are important.
I just hate how they work psychologically.
People know how to draw you in and click on their content, and it’s an art.
I just hate clickbait. Especially when it doesn’t produce the results it promises.
Sometimes they’ll lure you in with an enticing promise. But then you look at what they actually write, and you’re more confused than you started.
After a while, it feels almost formulaic. It’s always the same few words recycled in different orders.
I miss the days when organic headlines could draw people in, but clickbait is where it’s at, I suppose. I just don’t want to give up writing in my voice to hook people into whatever it is I’m writing about.
