“What was I made for?”

The lyrics stuck in my head nowadays (from Billie Eilish’s song)

You try. You fail. You burn out. You restart. You try again.

It seems like life is a crazy, endless cycle on repeat sometimes.

Is life in the trying? The succeeding? The failing? The in-between? The waiting?

Or maybe all of it. It’s so messy and beautiful sometimes. Sometimes it’s cruel, tragic, and downright ugly. And all the other times, the in-betweens — it feels like rising or falling action. Yet somehow, time moves relentlessly on. You shed demons only to gain new ones. You face trauma and joy, grief and rebirth. There’s so much to see and experience: the whole spectrum of human emotion is vast and impossible to capture within a few words.

I’ve been listening to music more than usual lately, and sometimes a song strikes a chord within me. It’s a difficult experience to describe. But somehow, artists capture fleeting feelings and impressions in ways I wish I could emulate.

Life isn’t so bad when there’s music to help you get through it.
