“One day”

“One day” sounds like a dream unfulfilled.

“One day” is what helps me power through each day, but it’s ever so elusive.

And the thing about it is whatever I dream about changes over time as well.

One day I’ll marry the love of my life.

One day I’ll become a mother and raise a family.

One day I’ll have a successful career and earn enough to live comfortably.

One day I’ll retire happy and healthy.

These dreams are shared by so many, but sometimes the path towards them is not straightforward. There are ups and downs and in-betweens. There’s waiting, there’s doing, there’s thinking, there’s reacting. So much unknown, so much uncertainty, so much risk.

But the idea I find helpful is: why not do the things you love every day? Why not carve out time for what you enjoy alongside your responsibilities and commitments?

What is a life worth if it’s not well-lived?

So I’m refilling my life with the things that make me feel alive.

Heaven knows how long I’ll be around for.
