My early twenties were so rough. Suicidal episodes, hospitalizations, heartbreak, and more.

My late twenties have been better. Drifting between retail jobs, getting a page position at the library, getting promoted to library assistant, and now going to library school.

Who’d have ever thought my love for books would translate into a career option?

Hindsight is 20/20, though. It makes sense looking back to the places I most cherished since I was little: libraries and bookstores.

At one point, I even forgot that during part of senior year of high school, I was volunteering at the school library. I read through the first arc of Bleach, which probably pointed to how often the library was used, but I did quite enjoy that work environment.

Fast forward to today: I’m halfway through my library degree and hoping to become a full-fledged librarian someday.

The path here wasn’t easy. I had no clue what I was going to do for the longest time.

But since 2022, I’ve been more sure about my path than before. And even having a path is so, so important.
