(Extended) Status Update

Curled up in my reading nook at home

With my schedule busier than ever, I’m trying to take some time to stop and reflect on how things are going.

I’m no longer tutoring, and I don’t know if that will be the case indefinitely. I’m honestly okay with this because it’d be one less thing to worry about. I do miss my tutees, though, and the extra money I made certainly didn’t hurt.

I’m currently still working for UNC Chapel Hill, and I’m going to attend a conference in November. Work for this has been about 2–3 hours a week, so not a big time commitment. Work has been variable for the most part: sending e-mails, updating the website, making travel requests, etc.

I’m also working for Wake County Public Libraries for 20 hours a week. That’s going well: still learning a lot and taking on more responsibilities. I’ve delivered two types of programs so far: Storytime and ABC Craft and Learn. I’m also thinking about helping with the library’s display for Mental Health Awareness, which is something I’m passionate about.

Classes are going well. I enjoy learning from my professors, and my classmates are all super knowledgeable. I learn a lot from them as well!

My family, friendships, and relationship are all going well; no drama, although I do feel like I’ve lost touch with some friends I thought I’d have for life. But y’know.. friendship is a…
