Do you believe in soul mates?
I’m not sure I do.
I thought about this question a lot.
I don’t know if I believe soul mates exist.
If they do, I don’t think they’re always romantic.
Throughout my life, I’ve felt like certain people understood me on a deeper level. This was usually my dad and sibling.
My current boyfriend is by no means my soul mate. There are lots of misunderstandings and such that come up from time to time.
I do feel like my best friend could be my soul mate, though. She sought to understand and support me in a way that no other person who was not related to me or was dating me had ever tried to.
It’s hard to find someone who just “gets” you, but when you do, it’s the most incredible feeling in the world.
I don’t think anyone I’ve dated has ever been my soul mate. But who knows, maybe I can have a lasting relationship even though they’re not necessarily my “soul mate.”
Platonic love is just as important as romantic love, after all.
